Valentine's

Another overdue project...sent it right a few days before Valentine's day to my sister and her husband in Australia but keep forgetting to find out if they got it in time for Valentine's day.

Please bear with the quality since I took it in the middle of the night with my handphone only.

This is their first Valentine's as husband and wife so I thought I'll just send them a mini card. This card is small compare to my normal size as I was cutting the card in a hurry and I accidentally cut at the line where I should fold.

This also the card I made after stopping for a few months due to work commitment so the quality also not what I like it to be. Hopefully, my subsequent cards will be better.

Overdue

Should have posted this long time ago but I was too caught up with my work (I am suppose to be rushing my work stuff but I guess a little break won't make too much a difference since I can't focus and get the things out anyway).

In my previous previous blog I mentioned that I won a stamp from tickledpinkstamps...I've received this long ago when I went back to my home country but I keep forgetting to post it up.

I've actually won only the girl holding a lovely cupcake but I was really surprised to see another stamp inside!!! Its a skull with heart shaped eyes... Too bad...I couldn't use any of these since I left it back home...

I am in the process of making a few cards but I could not complete it as my idea ran out and also due to lack of tools. Hope I can find an alternative so that I can complete the cards in time.

1st attempt

Well, this is my first attempt to enter challenges. Also my first attempt to make a card without much tools (I only have my trusted scissors and slightly blunt pen knife). I would consider this card as too plain and cheap. Cheap as in not up to the quality and value wise. I used a file divider as the base for the card as the paper is thick enough and I got it for free since its an extra. I printed out some wordings as the background for this card. The picture is digi from Tickled Pink Stamp - Lil Christmas Frankie. I've used the bread date tag to act as the reinforcement ring the the wordings are printed on normal A4 paper only.
I would like to enter my first attempt to:
1. Our Creative Corner - Don't Throw That Away
2. Creative Card Crew - No stamps???
3. Crafts and Me Challenges - Anything goes
4. Free-4-Ever - Blogavesary Candy
I wanted to join the Tickled Pink Stamp challenge as well but I seemed to have missed it...should have finish it faster and post it but I was too tired...eventhough this week is generally better for me as I don't have to finish all the things in a week. I made this card with the intention to send it to someone...but now I feel too embarrased to send it...maybe I'll make a few more or at least wait until I go home and have at least more tools (even if its still not even close to the basic tools everyone is having).
Ok...I better off to my work...or should I study first? How I wish one day have more than 24 hours then I'll have more time to sleep!!!

Giveaway

Pixie Dust Paperie is having a giveaway!!! Hop over to their blog for the details and join in!!! Look at the items offered!!! It's their October Kit "Fall in Love".I am still busy with work...but I've already have a card in mind. Now I'll have to work faster to get the work done before I can start making my card. Hopefully I can make it in time. Anyway, due to the extreme workload, I have not been doing all the things that I should be doing...not even ironing my clothes!!! So I just rush and iron what I need only and now the stack that I have to iron is growing!!! But I did manage to write a letter yesterday to my friend (part of the things that I promised myself), I think I mentioned before about the friend that I wanted to make it into my penpal^^.
I bought some puffy glue again...in different colours...but I was thinking I shouldn't buy little by little so I want to save up and treat myself a shopping spree after my exam. So it should be a birthday present for myself, also as a reward from all my work and sort of to celebrate my exam (not sure if i can pass this time round). Besides that, I have been saving up and planning for a little surprise. But I keep changing my mind on the things to buy!!!

I'll ramble more once I am done with my work and card...hugs^^

My New Stuff(s)

It's been VERY long since I last update.

No time at all to touch on my favourite tools (I didn't even bring it with me in the first place). The more I think of it, the more upset I am since I was in the impression that my new job will give me more time to do the things I like best...well, I should have guess it since I just change to a different company but still in the same industry.

Anyway, this new place also has its wonders since it's quite different the things sold here. So I got myself some new stuff during weekends when I just don't feel like working.

The glue is not what I thought it was but it's still something I don't have so its good enough. But one thing that I don't like about the glue is the colour is very deceiving. I chose this as I thought it will go well with most colours of cards but after the glue dried, it change to a very dark shade of purple so I am a wee bit disappointed.

As for the pen, its very metalic so again it should go well with a lot of colour but there's a catch again!!! I prefer to do my craft with fine tips as I like small things and fine tips is suitable for my handwritting but this pen here is not fine at all. I am not very sure if its because its a new pen and full of ink that just flows out quickly (not the spoilt leak anyway).

The stamp I think its a gem as the shop is having a discount on this. And its something I can afford after the discount. Love the image but couldn't try it as my ink pad is back home and I don't think I want to get it here.

Well, this is not something for my craft. It's just I remembered I told my friend that I want to be her penpal after I left my first job since she is one of the rare people that still have penpal till to-date. As for the glue, it's for me to do my transport claims!!!

I just remembered, I bought something else as my craft tools but was too lazy to go and get it to take a picture. Anyway, it's a roller glue and I am using it on other things just to test it first rather than spoil my craft if I use it straight.

Moo moo card cover ^^

The quality is not very good as it was taken using my handphone...Anyway, its something I made awhile ago as a replacement of the pictures for tap cards (ie. myki, touch n go, smrt ez-link) as I feel that most of the graphics on the cards are not really those pictures that you would like to see everyday...boring...
So I used papers to cut out this cow instead. I purposely make it with some air in the middle so the cow feels slightly more 3D. I think the most difficult is to cut out the nose of the cow as it is two very tiny holes...and I did it with my pen knife!!!

Puzzle of Life - Australia 2005 (continued)

The cover of the book...for this project, I made everything by myself (not the papers of course). I made this hard cover from card boards, cut out the white basic pages, punch holes for each pages and the cover, etc...
I actually printed out the wordings for the first page on a rough piece of paper and cut out this colour paper based on the print out. The 'P' and 'L' is just stickers I bought and the puzzle piece behind it, I cut out from foam sheets. They are actually matching piece (ie. the L puzzle can actually link to the P) but you cant do that since I glued it in place. These pieces is to match the theme for this little scrapbook

The first page I made...and I am satisfied with it. At the side, I use the snowflake punch to punch out half of the snowflake and used the cutout to complete the whole snowflake. It was a little empty so I use another blue snowflake to stick it around.
We took this picture the first time we went snow mountain...and that little snowman is the creation of both of us. Its a little small but our hand numb from trying to make it as round as possible...and its our first time so I consider it not bad at all (not sure about you though^^).

I know both of us is a little too old for stuff toys but I guess sharing the same birthdate even though different year has made us similar in many ways...and the love for stuff toys is one of it. This is her collection by the way...
I cut out a bear outline rather than the detail bear I usually do and I used both the positive and negative sides for this page.

Eat, eat, eat!!! We do enjoy food...though not too often due to the cost. I used a cherry stamp that I got years ago (toys for little kids...rather than professional stamp) and stamp on a strip of paper to deco the top. The teapot at the bottom corner is from the same set of stamp. Notice that there is a clock on the body of the teapot? My classmate used to say that it represents tea time...and I totally agree with her!!!

I don't really like this page as it is very plain and empty. The only highlight in this page is the paper bag. It is actually a real paper bag that I made. You can put things inside...if you can put thigns inside if you can find things small enough. I think some smallest coins like 5 cents or 10 cents and even paper clips can fit in.

Our visit to Melbourne Aquarium...we have a buy 1 free 1 voucher so we decided to use it...and its worth it since we got additional discount for being a student at that time!!!I like to see the jelly fish there!!! but I don't know how to do anything related to jelly fish so I decided to use what I do best...the round fishes. Have been using this fish for many times and occassions since its simple, easy to make and cute. I drew 3 bubbles for each fishes...sort of like human letting out breath in water.

The word 'FRIENDS' are actually from recycled paper...I first sketch out the words on rough papers then I go and look fro flyers around my university. They used to have brochures and flyers around the uni in different colours and since I did not buy any colour papers when I was studying there, it was the next best thing I can get!!! I usually use the sides since no wordings are printed there or the back if it was printed on one side only.
Then I used facial cotton to make the snow man.
We have some pictures taken with groups of friends...her housemates, my housemates and our friends. Since all these pictures are taken indifferent occasion, I'll have to come out with different theme if I were to put it out one by one and I am not sure if my mini scrapbook can hold so many pages so i put all the pictures together and held it using an eyelet at the corner. The deco of the page is just due to the santa we took picture with on the first picture.

Back then, we don't have a car (I still don't ^^) so we travel a lot by public transport and we love to travel even though not far...just somewhere the train can bring us.
Every season, there will be this guide book being printed for tourists. They include places to visit, voucher at the back and some maps of the city, train, etc...I usually use their train map is it is compact and easy to bring around.
This page I used a tracing paper to trace out the map of train lines...with colour pencils (since different zones are differentiated with different colour) and pen for the stations.
I cant use glue for this page as the tracing paper will crumple so I used eyelets to set the picture in place and also to attach the tracing paper to the back white page.

Our travel to seaside and also the zoo...If you just look at the two place it just doesn't look connected but our pictures looks like a match. Besides, both can be related...by my seahorse. It is actually a picture of horsea from pikachu. I use MS Word to draw outline for the picture and I cut out this piece of paper based on the outline. I just love seahorses

Summary of the mini scrapbook...

Double Lucky ^^

I am doubly lucky this month!!!

I found out that I won another giveaway...a stamp to be exact from Tickled Pink Stamps

I will be getting the stamp used on this card by Pink Lady Debbie...Isn't she adorable? And the cupcake she's holding, doesn't that reminds you of cupcake drizzles with hot chocolate and a cup of hot chocolate during winter?

Even though today is not the best day since things are not exactly smooth with my work but when I found out that I won this adorable little thing, I just couldn't stop smiling to myself. It really made my day...nothing could be better on this Christmas eve!!!

The highlight of this sweet stuff is the Starlight Tilda...not just one but two Starlight Tildas (one in mini size).

Love the card she made from the same stamp. Her details does not just focus on the front of the card, inside of the card is also lovely as well. The way she done it, it looks more like a photo frame than a card!!!. Just go over to see the lovely card.

The first winner has not contacted her within the time frame thus Yenni runs another pick and my number was chosen!!! View Yenni's blog for updated anouncement.
This month is really full of ups and downs for me (hopefully more ups and downs ^^). Will not have time for craft anytime soon as I'll be busy packing my things and settle everything. I am moving!!! Due to work of course...But I still want to upload the content of my mini scrapbook that I've posted before. So I'll search for the pictures first...the pictures was taken quite a while ago so I forgot where I saved it.
